Hai AI alarm assistant

Terms of Service

Effective date: August 10, 2026 · Version 2.3

These terms govern alarms, briefings, routines, Google account integrations, user-selected read-only external data connections, location, weather, travel guidance, paid subscriptions, and related Hai services operated by KevinHouse.

1. Acceptance and Application

Before creating an account or using Hai, users must review and accept these Terms and the Privacy Policy as presented. Personal-data processing, Google permissions, or paid purchases that require separate consent or approval follow their respective flows. Mandatory consumer protections and other non-waivable laws in the user's jurisdiction remain applicable.

Users must be old enough and legally authorized to enter into a service agreement in their country of residence. A minor who requires consent from a parent or legal guardian must obtain that consent before using the Service.

2. Service

Hai provides alarm scheduling and execution, briefing generation, routines based on Google Calendar, Google Tasks, YouTube, and Google Maps, WeatherAPI.com weather and air quality information, Google Cloud Vertex AI summaries and recommendations, and Google Play subscription management according to user settings and permissions.

When selected by the user, Hai may retrieve new RSS, Atom, and podcast items, ICS or WebCal events, Todoist tasks, and metadata from selected Notion pages, databases, or data sources in read-only mode for routines and briefings. Daily preparation routines use verified weather data and checklists saved by the user.

Gmail mail routines and Google Drive document routines are coming soon. Until separately announced, the current release does not request the related permissions or process that data.

3. Accounts and Data Connections

Google login may be required. Users must use their own account and protect access to it. Users may approve only the Google API permissions needed for selected routines. Denied or revoked permissions will make the related features unavailable.

Hai's use of information received from Google Workspace APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Users may revoke access from Google's connected apps and services page.

Users may add RSS, Atom, podcast, ICS, or WebCal sources only when they are authorized to use the material at that URL. Todoist and Notion connections are governed by each provider's OAuth approval and terms, and Hai uses read-only access only. Users may disconnect a source in app settings; disconnection deletes its token, original URL, selection data, and cache.

4. YouTube Features

By using YouTube-related features in Hai, users also agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. YouTube data is handled under the Google Privacy Policy. Hai does not download YouTube audiovisual files or store them for offline playback; recommendation links open the YouTube app or website.

5. Alarm and Device Limitations

Alarms, push notifications, and background behavior may be delayed or unavailable depending on Android version, manufacturer policy, battery optimization, network conditions, permissions, Do Not Disturb mode, system updates, and connected headphones or Bluetooth devices. Users should maintain an independent alarm method for critical obligations.

6. AI, Weather, and Travel Information

AI briefings, schedule and task summaries, content recommendations, weather, air quality, location names, travel time, and transit information are provided for convenience. Automated output and third-party API data may be inaccurate, delayed, or incomplete and do not replace official booking, payment, transportation, disaster, medical, legal, financial, or safety information.

Weather data may be provided by WeatherAPI.com, and travel or location information may be based on Google Maps Platform. Attribution displayed with results remains subject to each provider's terms.

7. User Obligations

Users must use the service lawfully and normally. Users must not access another person's account, email, schedule, location, private feed or calendar, or personal data without authorization; send malicious input; bypass security, billing, usage, permission, or AI safety controls; impose excessive load; or violate third-party service terms, Google policies, or Google Play policies.

8. Paid Subscriptions

Paid subscriptions are provided through Google Play. Prices, monthly execution allowances, renewal cycles, free trials, tax, currency, and restrictions are displayed in the app and on the Google Play purchase screen. If they conflict, the terms displayed by Google Play immediately before purchase prevail. Usage is counted only for alarm or routine briefing executions that finish successfully or partially successfully; requests blocked before execution or ultimately failed are not charged against the allowance. See the Billing and Cancellation Policy.

9. Intellectual Property and Third-Party Content

Rights in Hai software, design, trademarks, and original content belong to the operator or lawful rights holders. Content and trademarks from Google, YouTube, WeatherAPI.com, Todoist, Notion, and user-specified feed, podcast, or calendar providers remain the property of their respective owners. Use of the service does not transfer those rights to users.

Rights in content entered or connected by a user remain with the user or original rights holder. The user grants Hai only the limited right to store, process, and transmit that content for the period and scope needed to provide the requested feature, maintain security, and meet legal obligations.

Google and YouTube features are also governed by their respective terms and policies. WeatherAPI.com data may be subject to the WeatherAPI.com Terms and attribution requirements, and Google Maps results may be subject to the Google Maps Platform Terms and applicable notices.

Todoist and Notion features are governed by each provider's terms and privacy policy. Posts, audio, events, and metadata retrieved from RSS, Atom, podcast, ICS, or WebCal sources remain subject to the original provider's rights and terms. Hai does not guarantee the accuracy, legality, or continued availability of third-party source content.

10. Changes, Restrictions, and Termination

Hai may change, temporarily restrict, or discontinue part of the service due to external API changes, outages, quota limits, security, legal compliance, maintenance, or operational needs. Material changes will be announced in advance where reasonably possible; urgent security or outage responses may be announced afterward.

If a core paid feature is materially reduced or discontinued, Hai will provide advance notice and, where required by law or Google Play policy, a cancellation, refund, or reasonable alternative.

Users may request account deletion in the app or through the Account Deletion page. A request immediately signs the user out and disables alarms and external connections; identifiable account data is finally deleted after a 7-day recovery period. Access may be restricted for violations, fraudulent billing, security threats, or infringement of others' rights.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Hai is not liable for indirect, special, or consequential damages caused by external API failures, network issues, device or manufacturer policies, user permission settings, inaccurate AI output, or delayed or missed alarms. This limitation does not apply to liability arising from intent, gross negligence, or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

12. Governing Law, Disputes, and Changes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, with disputes handled under the procedures and jurisdiction established by applicable law. Mandatory consumer protections in the user's place of residence are not excluded.

Material changes will be announced before taking effect through the app or public policy page. Where separate consent is legally required, the change will apply only after consent is obtained. A user who does not agree may cancel the service and delete the account before the effective date.

Operational, billing, security, Terms, or policy notices may be delivered electronically through app notifications, in-app notices, the registered email address, or a public policy page.
